We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty. It is the changes that we all go through our lives that constantly improve us – and with this Maya Angelou’s words portraying this thought in the most dazzling way possible, I would like to wish you all a very pleasant evening. Our Secretary Mr. Kamalakannan, Joint Secretary Mrs. Suganthy, all trust members. The Principal of Dheeran Vidhyalaya Matric Mrs. Sindhuja, The Vice Principal Mr. Parthiban and the head mistrees Mrs. Kavitha Parent Community invited guests teachers and my beloved students. In Dheeran Academy (CBSE) we believe that every individual has a lot of potential and that potential can help accomplish wonders. That is why; it is fair to say that we thus believe that the future of the world starts here.
The Session of 2019-20 was a great year and I consider it a moment of pride to showcase to you all the achievements and development that the school staff and students undertook. The school currently has a strength of 269 students 20 academic staff 2 administrative staff and 3 multi-tasking staff. Excellence in academics is the hallmark of a good institution. Our school received the state Government NOC approval in the year 2017. It also got its provisional affiliation upto secondary level on 25th October 2018. I am very much proud to say that our first batch of Class X is appearing for their board examination on 24th February 2020. The School had started since 2014 and for the past 6 years there had been a unique style in all areas. Each year the management and staff have shown their involvement and interest increasing the admission.
The credit of the excellent performance is attributed to a member of new initiatives undertaken by the teachers and the school. Teachers Empowerment Program. ‘Teachers are also learners’ staying updated is the key to success in any field especially in education. Our teachers constantly strive to stay updated through various training program. We had our grade X teachers know about the recent updates in syllabus in Sri Vidhya Mandir - Shivaji Nagar. Dr.Sivaraman, M.D., was kind enough to share his knowledge about how the teachers can deal with autism and learning disabilities in the month of JULY Our teachers Mrs. Praveena & Mrs. Yamuna were invited by SSM School (CBSE) as Judges for their Literary Competitions. Student achievements.
The Competitions are not only among fellow students. They need to extend their boundaries and emerge as victors among other students of different schools. Our students participated in Speell bee in State level. We had around 50 Students Selected for national level.
D. Mahathi, S.M. Dharum Karthick, V.V. Sabarish - of Grade – III, N. Nivethitha , P.K. Harini, A.S. Nisanth - of Grade – II and Vinoth Kanna - of Grade – VII won prizes in state level. In National Level we had D. Mahathi on 45th Rank , S.M Dharunkar on 54th Rank, Vinoth Kanna on 64th Rank Olympiad.
Dheeran Academy Students excel in all areas on various competition conducted in Tamil, English and Hindi. Focus is given in spoken and handwriting. Kindergarten had colouring, rhymes, storytelling, G.K. Craft and Thirukural competitions. Where as in Primary and Secondary we had drawing and colouring, Thirukural recitation, Handwriting, Spell bee, Singing, Oratorical and essay writing competitions. Students are also encouraged to improve their reading skills through “ Young World’ news papers from Grade III Onwards’. Students update their knowledge by referring the book in our library.
We have a separate Math lab and science lab. Kids from grade 6 onwards are given opportunity to use the lab and learn practically. Our students participated in Roller skating competition held at Vaigai Matric Hr. Sec. School. Athur, We had 26 participants – we bagged “One first place, 5th Second Place, 3rd third place.
Karethe competitions held at school level fetched us. 3 Green belts, 1 Blue belt, 1 orange belt.
Salem District Level soft tennis championship was held at Holy cross on 2nd November in Salem. Our student B. Abinaya acquired 3rd Level on Category U-10 girls in single event.
On account of world yoga day all students participated in yoga events in our school. We are a part of world record today for this involvement. Co-Curricular activities.
By providing a conductive and encouraging environment, the students are mentored to participate in a variety of activities.
All students of a 4 houses where name in Tamil: Kamban, Bharathi, Andal, Avviyar the students had an investiture ceremony and captains and Vice ceremony and captains and Vice Captains were Chosen in the beginning of the year.
New initiatives like left hander’s day, Art & Craft exhibition eco club activities like seed ball preparation, file making, gardening were introduced. Students exhibited their interest and involvement in all areas.
We had introduced traditional games day in our school. Each Friday is termed as a no bag day. Kids learn more then academics which gives mental and physical strength in this arena. We had our Science and Math Exhibition where kids were able to bring out their inner potential to exhibit.
This year we have introduced aeromodelling to our co-curricular activities. This you can no where find in and around our area. We have Silambam, Karathe, Western Dance, Archery Skating and Abacus. The KG Celebrated Fruits day, green day, vegetable day, red day, transport day flowers day, pink day, yellow day and grand parents day with Zeal. We have also had Vaccination. Camp in our school for the kids. Our children are given deworming as per government instruction. We maintain a clean environment. Kids are given Ro Water. A new initiative of water bell is introduced.
We are continuing the second year Olympiad International exams for Mathematics, Science and English. 29 children participated in mathematics, 17 in science and 15 in English. In Mathematics S.Sanjay of Grade II got school gold medal, R.Nivarshini of Grade IV got school gold medal. Lithika of Grade V got school gold medal. We are happy to inform.
Before concluding this report, I bow my head in reverence to the almighty god for the blessings.
